GREAT PADDLE FOR THE PRICE!! Aug 08, 2010
By J. BUTLER
"COFFEELOVER"
I'm a female beginner kayaker at 5'4" tall and 150lbs. I have been kayaking 3-4 days per week since June 2010. I recently purchased the 89" paddle as the other paddle I purchased for $70 on sale seemed heavier than the 2.56 pounds stated and also seemed a little too short. This paddle, to me, feels lighter. It's only 3lbs, not many lighter than that at this price... not even close. It's a great paddle and I love it! I currently only go on local lakes. Some choppier than others, but haven't had any problems. I will be testing it on the river in a couple weeks. I may have to consider an asymmetric for river, but the river is pretty calm right now. I think this paddle should work well for that. Again, I love it and it's not heavy to me. I am stronger than most women my age, I'm a farm girl who takes Taekwondo and bellydancing 5-6 times per week along with kayaking. No, I'm not muscular by any means. However, You may want to take that into consideration when choosing a paddle. Not many paddles are less than 2.5lbs unless you plan to spend well over $100 on a paddle. Otherwise this is an awesome paddle! I have small, but strong, hands and this paddle although 1-1/4" in diameter plus rubber grips worked well for me also! Rubber grips are a plus and can be expensive, but these paddles come with it.
Yesterday, several other kayakers tried this paddle. They asked where I got it as they all really liked it! I told them where I purchased it and gave them the sellers name.

Kayak paddle- too heavy! Aug 05, 2010
By MKPBOS This paddle is too heavy and the clip doesn't work very well between the two paddles to keep them together.

Kayak Paddle Jul 08, 2010
By Ranger One Nice paddle, it also included the grip pads (which if purchased separately are at the cheapest $12) The price was nice, the only negative issue is when you unhook the paddle to put it into two pieces - the hook is made out of a rubber type of material and will slip from the hole. The rubber clip isn't as sturdy as most metal clips, but overall it's pretty good if you don't unhook it, if you do, you will most likely lose the clip that is to hold it together.

89" (225 cm) Two Piece Kayak Paddle- Yellow Sep 05, 2010
By Joseph Vlachos Well built. Light. High visibility yellow paddles. Easily marred. Seems fragile, but rather durable. Produces flutter. Overall, a good choice.

By jfgretired The paddle was all I expected it to be. For the money, it's an excellent buy. I realize not everyone would want a paddle this heavy, but I'm not willing to pay over $200 for a paddle.
