| | Description | The Carlisle Standard Kayak paddle is perhaps the most durable long-lived kayak paddle on the market. The vinyl-clad aluminum shaft and high impact polypropylene blades will give you years of worry free service. To make the blades as strong as possible the aluminum shaft extends the full length of both blades. This is the industry standard paddle for whitewater inflatable kayaking by offering worry free durability. Not the lightest paddle available but one of the strongest ever made and at a very reasonable price. | |

We like this product. Sep 24, 2011
By Cathy Works well for river kayaking especially when you need to push off rocks. Doesn't fit together quite as tight as our old one same brand and style.
A different kind of kayak paddle Mar 08, 2011
By mike h I can understand the previous commenter's concerns about this paddle, but we (my wife and I) have had two of these for more than ten years since given to us by my mother as a "what can I give as a present", and we enjoy them more than any of the four other paddles we have. They are a little heavier but we enjoy the flat blade which is easier for back paddling and the very solid feel for pushing off rocks. Neither of us are small and we are definitely in it for recreation and nothing too intense. Consider this paddle as being strong and easy to use and definitely good for the price.Carlisle 84-Inch Standard Vinyl Clad Aluminum 2-Piece Kayak Paddle
Too Heavy Nov 12, 2010
By Murphy Brown I am a 5' 2" - 125 lb woman (who is a pretty formidable kayaker). Immediately, straight out of the box,I found the kayak paddle to be too heavy and unwieldy. The squared-off paddles may make the overall paddle sturdy and long-lasting, but they made it too cumbersome for me. If you are looking for an easy ride--or--for something for a big child, young adult, or woman, this is not the paddle for you.
