Description

Sleek, nimble, and light-footed~ this silky smooth hull packs surprising speed for its short length. This is partly because of the trim beam, which also helps keep the weight low. Ideal for lighter to mid-weight paddlers, the Bliss can take you to that special "Other Place"~ where the cares and hustle and bustle of the 'real' world just melt away in priceless moments. The lofty support of the adjustable seat back assures you a life of leisure while you enjoy your Blissful ride. And the seat back folds down easily and securely so you can load large dry bags in the amply-sized stern. There is plenty of room in the rear fishnet pocket to store the water bottle and more. Adjustable foot braces make it "just your size" and the tie down loops at each end are secure and simple to deal with. A convenient paddle holding ledge on the side of the boat keeps the paddle handy but out of the way when you are busy with other things. At 37 lbs it is a breeze to load, transport, and unload. This Bliss is about being perfectly adapted to your favorite part of the world. It's about a quiet escape. It's about you. Go ahead~ Bliss out. It's good for you!

5I love this kayak  Sep 13, 2010 By K. Holland
I read many different reviews online and tried out a few Wilderness Systems kayaks before deciding to order Emotion's Bliss and the Emotion Glide kayaks from Amazon. We received the Bliss first and I absolutely love it! I am a female, 5'4", 125 lbs, so this kayak is made for me. It tracks well, feels stable, and requires much less effort for me to paddle than the WS kayaks or even the Glide. I paddled for 1.5 - 2 hours today and it was really...bliss. My husband, who is 5'11" and 165 lbs, found this kayak to be a little tippy/ less stable for him, so he prefers the Glide. Great price and free shipping from Amazon, too.

4Emotion Bliss Kayak  Jul 07, 2011 By Hopeful1
I am pleased with my Emotion Bliss Kayak. I first purchased a Glide by Emotion and read that the Bliss tracked better. It does track better than the Glide, but the Glide is more stable. Now I let my friends and family members use my Glide when we kayak. I only take the kayak to the local lake and it does fine, so I have no idea how it would perform in a river, etc. I am a 51 year old female ( who is fairly athletic). I would recommend both the Bliss and the Glide kayaks. I went on the Emotion website and watched the videos on kayaks I was considering and read all the specs and details of different kayaks they offered and it was very helpful in deciding on which kayak was best suited to me. Before I started researching Emotion Brand Kayaks I went to my local Bass Pro and sat in several models they had and it gave me some idea as to what size and type kayak to purchase as well. Do your research online and in such a store because I found it very helpful, besides I asked the sales person all kinds of questions about kayaks too. Before I bought my kayaks I had never really kayaked before, but I find it is very similar to canoeing. I also mulled over the idea for a while and slept on it for several weeks before I made a decision on which kayak to buy. I am glad I did because I feel satisfied with my decision.

5Great Kayak!  Apr 07, 2011 By M. Lewis
Really happy with my purchase of this kayak. After doing a lot of research on the internet, I decided that the Emotion Bliss was the kayak for me. I was a little nervous making this kind of purchase on line without first seeing and trying out the kayak. I took the risk and it paid off. After a little bit of a learning curve for balance I was off and paddling with no problem. It tracks well and I don't feel like I'm working hard at all. My husband and I are on the smaller size, me at 5'4" 130 and he at 5'8" 160. This is the perfect kayak for both of us, he owns one too.
I am very impressed with features like a very comfortable seat, easily adjustable foot rests, a paddle holder and the fact that it is easy to carry and lift over my head to put on top of our van.
Looking forward to years of use and adventures.

4Very good Yak  Dec 03, 2011 By drdaleh
As others have pointed out, this all plastic yak is a great tracker, quick paddler, with limited weight capacity. The cost for us higher weight people is that it gets tippier the more wt it is carrying. I'm 175 lbs and would say that's about all that should be in this yak, although my 210 lbs friend has used it and called it fast and tippy. In a medium current river it can get bumped on the bottom and cause a fright but recovers nice if you are quick, side current tends to make it roll if you are not attending very very closely to the situation. I agree that the molded in handles are slippery when wet and the holes are not really big enough to get a hand into so they need a rope ring or sling attached. The seat is adequate, not cushy, and the lack of creature comforts is part of this yak's economy. I've not abused my Bliss but it has been in rocks and trees without damage or warp, indestructable! I would recommend this yak to anyone loading it him or herself, needing a light (but not ultralight) yak that is quick and follows true, is a bargin for the bucks, gets admiration looks from other yak owners, and if you are under about 5-9 and 160. It's been Bliss, especially in lakes. Happy yaking!

5Tippy then awesome!  Oct 19, 2011 By KS streams
I was looking for a smaller kayak that would be light weight, good keels, and have speed mainly for young kids or ladies that may be going kayaking. I am 6'2" about 180 lbs with size 10 shoe. I'm about at the max end for weight and size for this kayak. I can paddle just fine in it and often use it because I can go fast and meunever better than my 12' kayak. Yes, at first it is tippy and you seem to use a some core muscles, although after about 30 minutes your body seems to adjust to it. Second time you get in it, you don't seem to feel the tippiness. If you sit in it with your legs slighty/comfortably bent it is less tippy. It is lightweight and paddles easily and has the speed to stay up with the longer kayaks. I added handles to it, which you need and some bungee strapping on the front and back.
