Comfortable and adjustable Jun 16, 2010

We are novice kayak rowers and had little idea of which paddle would be useful for us. My wife and I are exactly the same height so one paddle would be the same for both of us. We purchased an Emotion Glide Kayak here and needed a paddle. I was surprised at the quality of this paddle. It is comfortable on longer sessions and is adjustable for the type of paddling you will be doing. You can lock the face of the paddle to be either in, out or flat to the stroke.
The plastic is very durable feeling and it breaks down to only a couple of feet long for storage and transport. I am sure there are better paddles out there but for our novice purposes this is just the bees knees.
Thanks for reading my review.

Up to the task Sep 07, 2010
By SciFi Mama I've used several different paddles over the past few years and found this one to be my favorite. I appreciate the foam padding (helps to keep my thumbs from becoming fatigued too soon,) and the length is perfect for my 5'7.5" body. Another reviewer commented on the width of the paddles themselves. For me, the slightly narrower width is actually better. I'm not a "power paddler" and the wide "scoop" of some other paddles I've tried creates too much resistance for me to handle on a long day on the water. I've found the weight to be manageable and the overall sturdiness more than able to handle the whacks I sometimes have to give when I'm fishing in the brush and get stuck. Overall, I think this is a good value for someone looking for a solid middle-of-the-road paddle.

good paddle for the money Sep 19, 2010
By J. Worley Good paddle for the money. Has 4 positions for clocking the blades. When disconnected stores easily in the truck of a car.

great kayak paddle Sep 06, 2010

"lazy traveller"
Of course I looked to Amazon when our local sporting goods store only had one kayak paddle. I picked the Emotion paddle since I bought the Emotion Glide kayak at the same time - both were to be gifts to my husband. For the whole story see my review of the Glide! I liked this paddle a lot - nice padding on the thing without it getting in the way. It was also sturdy - the locally available paddle rattled when the two halves were connected, this one did not. I would recommend a paddle leash if you plan to use it (or any paddle) in water with a current - the paddle is the first thing to float out of reach when you flip over.

Paddle is not wide enough Aug 23, 2010
By Danny After spending the money for it and doing tons of research the width of the paddle head is still not wide enough. It just feels like my old paddle was much better. I would recommend getting a paaddle with bigger paddles. The length was good though.
