Great paddle for the price! Sep 11, 2010

I purchased this paddle to go with a new Emotion kayak. The paddle exceded my expectation in several ways. First it has adjustable drip guards on both ends, two-piece snap together construction for easy assembly, foam grips, and 3 paddle angle adjustments.

This is a great paddle for the price. I purchased a Sea Eagle paddle for $99.00 which was not nearly as good as this. Has a great bite in the water! This paddle is the perfect length and weight. Great for the novice paddler that wants a decent paddle for a low price.

Much lighter than the other paddle i was using - a fifty year old wooden one. It has a more flexible feel than I would have expected. But it works well enough that I can create my own wake behind the kayak and catch up to boat waves and surf them a bit.

This paddle is outstanding. It's comfortable and very easy to use. You get a lot of results from little effort.

This seems to be the same item as the Seasense kayak paddle AKA Unified Marine 8690 Kayak Paddle (96-Inch) which sells for a few bucks less on Amazon and includes free shipping. I own the Seasense paddle, and it is a big improvement over the crappy paddles that are included with kayaks (Specifically the Folbot paddles and the paddles that come with Coleman inflatables). The shaft does flex some, but the blade shape is good. You are better off stripping off or super gluing down the foam pads/handrests as they just slide around once they get wet which makes for some humorous accidents. The paddle was a little long for me so I just trimmed off 5 inches from one of the shafts and drilled a new hole for the press button to fit into. That worked fine.
