2Kwick Tek Kayak Paddle 3 Section Aluminum  Jul 08, 2008 By Roger H. Van Slyke
The plastic pieces that connect the three aluminum shaft pieces are very easily broken. My first outing at the beach I broke one of them. I replaced it with some PVC piping and duct tape but I could no longer take it apart. During my second outing to the beach nothing broke but there was noticeable deformation to the paddle. On my third outing the other connector piece broke and the paddle ended up in my trash can. It is easy to use and handy in an emergency but I would not recommend it for any other use since it is so likely to break or deform.

1Useless  Aug 03, 2009 By J. Lewin
The paddle's parts are held together by large plastic O-rings. The paddle fell apart the first time I used it on completely calm water. Every few minutes I had to spend several minutes refastening the parts. The paddle's head fell off twice. I bought two that both suffered the same problem so I don't believe the problem is a one-off error. I threw out the paddles; they are useless.

2Toy paddle  Aug 04, 2009 By dr.T
Yes, it is cheap and easy and convenient to take apart and put in your backpack. I have many years experience with paddling, and I have never tried a paddle that is so small, weak, and makes you so wet (probably due to the large, unnecessary groves in the blades). However, you can split it into two and let the kids play with it in the canoe.

4great for an emergency paddle  May 03, 2008 By SA
I bought this to carry as an emergency paddle in conditions where my expensive carbon paddle might be damaged or lost.

It assembled easily and it can be broken down into a few small pieces which are easily stored in the 15"x12" hatch of my kayak leaving room for other gear.

1One-stroke paddle  Feb 09, 2011 By jen k.
I bought this product because it fit in the bag with my inflatable kayak. I took my kayak with me to Costa Rica and was so excited to take advantage of some awesome kayaking waters and excellent river photography. This paddle didn't make it through a complete stroke before it completely and irreparably snapped. Perhaps it was a manufacturer defect in the plastic coupler but I had to rent a kayak in order to rent a paddle. Suffice it to say, my rental cost more than this paddle and I only went kayaking once on what was supposed to be a primarily kayaking trip. I adjusted and had a great time but I wouldn't advise pinning one's hopes on this paddle. I definitely wouldn't have this paddle as an emergency standby. My advice is to spend a few more dollars to buy a better quality product.
