This product is not as it is described... Aug 15, 2008
By P. Wingenfeld The Pathfinder II is a described as being a 2 person Kayak with the capacity to carry up to 375 pounds. Two normal size adults weighing in total 325 pounds should, therefore, be certainly able to utilize this craft in a comfortable manner. This, however, is not the case. There is not enough leg room to make use of the foot pegs...they are useless. Additionally, the clips used to attach the seat to the kayak rings are quite fragile and break easily. On the good side, the product is easily inflated and can be in the water within 15 minutes. It stores and travels easily. It tracks well in the water. It is a fun kayak, however, for two children or two adults who are short in stature.

A first review Jan 30, 2008
By James G. Poulos

I looked everywhere for a review for this kayak before I bought it and could not find one anywhere. But it looked as good as inflatables that cost twice as much so I decided to take a chance. I bought this kayak through Wal*Mart for $50 cheaper. I hope Amazon doesn't mind me saying so. Amazon has been great with customer service, and I will continue with them but what can I say.
Anyway the Kayak. It just came in so I set it up to see what it was like. It looks good and feels well made. I haven't tried it on the water yet and will get back when I do but for $300 it seems like it is worth it.
Couple of issues are that the instruction are not very complete and your left to you own ingenuity to figure out what goes where. As far as the pressure needed you'd never know if you have the correct pressure without a gauge.
It is large and though only two seats it looks like it can carry three people, two adults one child easily, with gear.
I'm no expert but from what little experience I have it looks like it will take the water great. Two directional fins on the bottom, drain holes, lots of rings for rope lines, carrying handles, two paddles, carrying case. It is all there. Looking forward to trying it.
Add: I like it. Set up and take down are easy. On the water it is stays firm, turns and moves well. I am very satisfied with it and the price is right. If the more expensive ones are any better, I'd be surprised.

Great for the money Oct 04, 2010
By Michael Berard I bought this earlier this year after reading the reviews. Amazon's price was a lot better than the local discount sporting goods. My wife and I used it about four times this season on a lake. The craft itself is very nice. Inflates easily with the enclosed foot pump. I didn't think much of the enclose pressure gauge but just went by feel so's as not to over inflate. Was already prepared for the poor seats from previous reviews. (This is the reason I only gave it 4 stars.) If this inflatable is for kids 100lbs or less then the seats might work. I ended up buying 'Crack Of Dawn' seats from Amazon and while their about a hundred bucks each they are truly great seats with nice back support. (Wished I could have posted a picture of them in the kayak.) The oars are fair but I wish they were about 6" longer. You tend to get water inside the boat. Since I do most of the paddling I bought a longer one. One reviewer felt there wasn't enough room for two people to stretch out and use the foot pegs. I'm 6' so I sit in the back and I can stretch out all the way. My wife is about 5'4" and while she can't rest her legs on the pegs, she can stretch out by just laying her legs over the pegs. As far as the Chinese directions, there really isn't much to putting this together. Just make sure when you inflate you start with the marked #1 first, then #2 and then the floor which is #3. Hope this review helped!

pleasantly surprised Jul 30, 2009
By Globus Although the instructions are a Chinese joke, once we assembled the kayak and launched it, we were pleasantly surprised by its stability and ease of handling in even rough water. It easily rides swells and small waves. The paddles provided are barely adequate, but we use older, larger ones that we had kept from our previous kayak. The pump is also little more than a toy. Now it remains to be seen how durable it is over a longer period (it is kept out of the sun when not in use).

Nice Kayak and Has Sailing Option Mar 18, 2011

Durable, handles nice, easy to pack and carry. With SailboatsToGo folding sail kit, it also makes a neat sailboat. I'll post a picture.
