Seattle Sports Kayak Paddle Leash - Acceptable Jun 10, 2010
By M. Harmon

Product is acceptable. The method of attaching it to the paddle is clumsy, though, and the leash tends to slip from its centered position. The leash is not bad enough to send back, but next time I would try one of the others available.

Would not buy again Dec 26, 2010
By YakFisher It does it job but just not very well. the strap that connects to your paddle is not tight so the strap goes back and forth while you paddle which can cause some problems when paddling. i would buy another paddle leash and spend a little more money next time.

Broke on first outing Jun 01, 2011

I bought two of these leashes for two kayaks (Frenzy and Yak Board).
Was using it with the Yak Board, first day out, and the cord snapped. Will not buy this again, but will buy one that is more durable.
A simple piece of small diameter bungee cord with a nylon wrap will not suffice for many applications.

Some Good, Some Bad Mar 19, 2011

I have two of these leashes. I use one paddle, and carry a spare. I have leashes on both. I coil the elastic cord around each paddle near its center joint and latch the hook into the slip binding. It never moves and is always there ready to deploy as needed. I have used the heavier spring coiled type of paddle leash too. They are effective. But I do not want to have them deployed all the time, they are difficult to store on deck, and impossible to store on the paddle itself. The down side to this paddle leash is that the elastic cord is very light weight. It stretches to the point where I am concerned that it will break when trying to retrieve my paddle. This is especially true in difficult sea and wind conditions where you are most likely to use it. And, the elastic seems to degrade over time and exposure to the sun. A slightly shorter and heavier elastic would make this a better product in my opinion. Recommended, but with the reservations above.
