5Bang for your buck!  Jun 25, 2010 By happy tahiti pro SB owner
Got the Seveylor tahiti pro self bailing inflatable kayak just in time for running the animus river in SW Colorado at the peak flow. The kayak is lightweight and manuverable and holds 2 people although it is more manuverable as a one person boat. Ran the river more than a half a dozen times a high flow 2000 to 5000 cfs class 2 to 4 rapids with both 1 and 2 people and it handaled excellently. The self bailers could be more productive but do the job to suffice. All in all probably the best inflatable kayak for your money for novice and intermediate river runners, lake paddelers, and sea kayakers.

5Great value  Jul 03, 2010 By Clifford Silcox
I was looking for something that the whole family could enjoy on the lake. I wanted something affordable that would stand up to the abuse of my three kids. This Kayak did it. It was just what we were looking for. It's easy to inflate, easy to paddle, and takes a beating.

4Similar to the old Fiji, but with some differences  Oct 07, 2010 By A. Hynes "Rural Resident"
My family has been using Sevylor inflatable kayaks for years, so it was with some trepidation that I purchased a new Tahiti after our Fiji gave out from an oversize family friend's use. Just a note: this kayak does NOT come with any paddles, you're on your own for those and a good paddle makes all the difference. Secondly, spend the additional $20 for the Sevylor Skeg, its worth more than every penny and should be included in the box.

In regards to the Tahiti Pro, the self-bailing function only functions when removing the kayak from the water, since the bailers are merely holes in the stern. If you forget to close them before use, be prepared for an inch or two of water in the bottom of the boat at all times. I suppose if you plan on using this in a whitewater situation, it might make sense to open the bailing holes, but for my uses (lakes and bay exploration) the bailing was only useful if my wife had to remove the kayak from the water on her own.

The kayak inflates quickly with a footpump, and is very durable. My last model, a Fiji (basically the same but in purple) lasted for about 8 years before someone who far exceeded the weight allowance used it and it popped. I highly recommend Sevylor kayaks, but if you have to pay extra for self bailing, I would go regular or hunting.
