III-IV Boater Apr 03, 2012
By DT I've taken this boat on several rivers in Oregon and been quite happy. The bow lift is great (a little drier ride) and it is amazingly stable (you can sit on a side tube and not tip). It's a great choice for a beginner but you can really make it zip if you're a pro. My only quibble is that it's so stable, it doesn't tend to lean the same way as a hardshell. You are actually riding on two pontoons, rather than on a rounded floor floow so it takes a while to get used to doing eddy turns and peel outs.
